11.6.2019 — From the 12th to the 14th of June, the first English language theatre festival FEST-END (Festival of English-Speaking Drama) will take place in Švanda Theatre in Prague.

19.12.2018 — The impressive music experience can be enjoyed at eleven concerts. The 20th anniversary of the festival will bring music and harmony to the various venues in the city: Rudolfinum, Obecní dům (Municipal House), Pražský hrad (Prague Castle), Novoměstská radnice (New Town Hall), Kongresové centrum (Prague Congress Centre) and the hall in the city of Mladá Boleslav. You will be able to enjoy the pleasure of various types of classical music from various eras, such as orchestral music, chamber music or recitals. The audience will hear some very famous pieces as well as interesting music titles rarely performed.

8.7.2020 — Mayors of the capitals of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries have signed an open letter to the European Council. In it, they call for financial support, declaring their commitment to approach the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to seek smart solutions that improve quality of life and to overcome the challenges of climate change.

17.5.2020 — If you enjoy looking at the city from a great height, you will be pleased to know that the City of Prague Museum is reopening the most popular Prague towers. The Czech capital city is also known as the City of a Hundred Spires ('Stověžatá Praha'). Only a few people know exactly how many towers there are in Prague; however, it is certainly over one hundred. In Prague, towers of all kinds are everywhere, even in the least expected places.

26.4.2019 — The director George Miller made cinematic history with the creation of the Mad Max cult movies. Now you can see all the movies in the series in one day, on the 27th of April 2019 at Aero cinema, as part of the 'Legends of Aero' series. The movies are in English with Czech subtitles.

8.5.2019 — On Saturday, the 11th of May, Prague Castle will officially open the summer tourist season. The seat of the Czech heads of state is on this day open to visitors completely for free. Apart from the opening of the summer season, the 100th anniversary of the Office of the President of the Republic will also be celebrated.

29.5.2019 — The 21st international festival, "Prague Heart of Nations 2019", is the largest joint event for minorities in the Czech Republic, bringing a wealth of traditions from nations around the world. From the 30th of May to the 3rd of June, the festival will symbolically take place in the heart of Europe - the historical centre of Prague. Since 1999, musicians, singers and dancers have come to the Czech capital to perform traditional folk art from their native countries. This year, Prague will welcome a wide range of artists once again.

12.6.2023 — Osvětová kampaň NE! V PŘÍRODĚ vznikla z potřeby města reagovat na nevhodné chování části návštěvníků pražských lesů a parků. Jedná se o společný projekt fotografa a art direktora Matěje Derecka Harda a odboru Ochrany prostředí Magistrátu hlavního města Prahy. Hlavním cílem kampaně je tedy poukázat na nevhodné chování části návštěvníků v městské přírodě. Na úvod kampaně proběhla v roce 2021 výstava s vernisáží na Staroměstské radnici. V roce 2025 bude kampaň pokračovat formou putovní výstavy.

27.4.2010 — Rada hlavního města Prahy schválila na svém dnešním zasedání přidělení finančních prostředků ve výši 6 970 000Kč na partnerství hl. m. Prahy při pořádání sportovních akcí v roce 2010. Materiál předložil v městské Radě primátor hl. m. Prahy Pavel Bém, v jehož kompetenci se oblast sportu a volného času nachází.

4.1.2019 — On Sunday, the 6th of January 2019, the Epiphany, you will have the opportunity to witness a special procession of the Three Wise Men (the Three Kings) on camels in the streets of the Czech Capital. The parade will proceed from Malostranské náměstí via Karlův most (Charles Bridge) to the Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square), where the Jakub Jan Ryba's 'Czech Christmas Mass' (Česká mše vánoční) will be played and sung, concluding the procession and the Christmas season.

17.12.2018 — The season of Advent, the four weeks leading into Christmas, is the time of Christmas markets where people are purchasing gifts for their loved ones and absorbing the Christmas atmosphere. Where will you find them in Prague? Traditionally, the largest two markets are in Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square) and Václavské náměstí (Wenceslas Square). This year's theme of the markets is fairy tales. The fairy tale motifs can be seen in the decorations. The daily performances on the stage in the Old Town Square is in line with the fairy tales theme. They will continue right through until the 6th of January 2019.

16.7.2009 — Praha pořádá ve dnech 12. – 14. října ve spolupráci s mezinárodní organizací EUROCITIES a se Svazem měst a obcí ČR konferenci s názvem „Spolupráce a vyšší efektivnost poskytování veřejných služeb“. Odborníci i političtí představitelé evropských měst, států i asociací samospráv v rámci konference představují příklady zajímavých projektů dotýkajících se problematiky modernizace veřejné správy a poskytování služeb občanům s využitím informačních technologií. Diskutují také o trendech, strategiích i výzvách, které tato aktuální tématika přináší v celoevropském kontextu.

9.1.2019 — The third floor of the Jindřišská Tower is now dedicated to an exhibition of original nativity scenes hand-carved by craftsmen from Třešť, which has become known as the town of nativity scenes. In this small town in the Jihlava district, the beautiful tradition of carving those extraordinary works has been handed down from father to son, from generation to generation for over two hundred years.http://www.jindrisskavez.cz.

1.2.2019 — Over the course of the year, The City of Prague Museum is preparing a total of six exhibitions. These exhibitions will show Prague past, with interesting historical crafts, as well as present-day Prague, with photographs by a well-known photographer. The museum has permanent displays, such as the archaeological collection in the main building, which is the museum's biggest collection and mostly comes from the museum's archaeological research. Collections of applied art are also valuable, including a high-quality collection of graphics. The most valuable part of this collection is the vedute, which are views of Prague, including its squares, individual street, important buildings, emerging suburbs and natural surroundings outside the city's baroque fortifications. Visitors can also admire these views in Langweil's model of Prague, which contains more than 2,000 buildings on a 1:480 scale, with all the fine details of facades, courtyards, gardens and farm outhouses belonging to buildings. In the case of many demolished historical buildings, Langweil's model of Prague is the only physical record of their appearance.

30.11.2011 — There are many ways how to travel in Prague: the beauty of the city can be explored by tram, metro, bus, boat, funicular, taxi, car or bike. The most comfortable way to travel in the historical centre is the public transport, which can take you almost anywhere. It is cheap and quick. Travelling by car is recommended only exceptionally.

28.1.2019 — Prague City Council approved the members of a new Commission for the Night Mayor, the head of which will be Jan Štern. The commission's main goal will be to systematically work on long-term solutions for Prague's nightlife, to keep it within reasonable limits and to cultivate it at the same time. Members of this Commission will include representatives of Prague 1 and of the Municipal Police, as well as representatives of night clubs and organizers of cultural events. The aim is, on one hand, to reduce negative impacts of nightlife on the citizens of Prague, and on the other hand, to not damage the prosperity of the city ​​and its inhabitants.
