The project Ledová Praha invites children to engage with heritage centres in Prague

24.1.2019 — On Friday, the 1st of February 2019, schoolchildren in the Czech Republic will enjoy a school break. As in previous years, children will participate in project Ledová Praha by visiting monuments, museums and other centres of heritage in Prague. Over the long weekend from the 1st to the 3rd of February, families and groups of children will collect their Ledová karta, a free card that grants free or reduced admission to many museums and galleries in Prague, (such as the National Museum, the Jewish Museum in Prague and the Czech Police Museum) and other places of interest (for example, Prague Castle, Strahov Library and Loreta Praha). This year, about thirty historical and cultural centres of heritage are taking part.

Enjoy a steam train ride at the weekend

12.6.2020 — Czech Railways have prepared nostalgic train rides for the coming weekend, the 13th and 14th of June. The Čtyřkolák steam engine will bring passengers on a historic train journey on a romantic route through the Prokopské Valley and the Prague Semmering.

10.4.2010 — Primátor hl. m. Prahy Pavel Bém se včera zúčastnil prvního výročí Hard Rock Cafe Praha. Klub se nachází ve třech patrech historické budovy domu U Rotta na Malém náměstí, a včerejší oslavy 1. výročí od svého vzniku byly vskutku velkolepé. Restaurace pro téměř 400 osob, dva bary, obchod a klub se tak zaplnili oslavujícími návštěvníky.

Czech Police Museum collecting facemasks for exhibition

31.5.2020 — Wearing a facemask, respirator or bandana has become a new standard in the Czech Republic due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is mandatory to cover your nose and mouth from the 19th of March, with some exceptions. The Czech Police Museum is creating an original collection of masks to exhibit. Due to a lack of masks and because they are mandatory, some people started to make them at home.

Conifers in Prague Botanical Garden

Araucaria, Podocarpus, and Agathis (commonly known as kauri or dammara) are not the names of mythical animals, but of conifers that the garden will introduce as part of an exhibition that will take place until the end of August. If you are passionate about dancing, you will surely enjoy DanceTime Gala Ball 2019, which will take place on the 12th of January 2019 in Grand Hotel Bohemia in Prague. The ball is the conclusion of the second year of the DanceTime Gala Cup, a special dance competition where one professional and one amateur work together as dancing partners. 28.10.2020 — Prague Planetarium and the Štefánik Observatory commence another two-year course in astronomy. Those who complete the course successfully will have an opportunity to work in the Astronomy Club of the Štefánik Observatory. The two-year astronomical course has been held for over 50 years and offers the participants basic knowledge of modern astronomy along with knowledge of the night sky and the basics of working with astronomical instruments.
