22.9.2020 — All visitors to the zoo probably know the pavilions, enclosures and expositions. However, the zoological garden also offers the opportunity to walk local trails, leading to a time when the planet Earth was just being formed. The Geostezka path leading from the ungulate enclosures to Gočár Houses in the upper part of the zoo winds around the rock massif so closely that it does not allow for the construction of pavilions and enclosures with animals. Here, visitors can focus on the paleontological trail called 'Footprints in Time'.

18.8.2020 — "In April, together with GoOut, we sold tickets to non-existent shows in order to help to keep our culture alive. And because the time when almost NOTHING cultural happened is, hopefully, behind us, now Prague can experience SOMETHING in the last weekend of September. As an expression of gratitude to supporters and fans, cultural organisations all over Prague are preparing special events and programmes. 31.7.2019 — Famous organ concerts in the baroque church of St. Francis of Assisi, in the heart of the Old Town of Prague, have their tradition since 1993. Besides compositions by world-famous composers from the Baroque and Classicism periods, music by Czech composers is also regularly played there.

5.9.2019 — From the 6th to the 8th of September, Prague will host the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup finals. The series of top-class canoe slalom races will culminate at the artificial canoe slalom course in Troja, along with the Extreme Canoe Slalom CSLX World Championships 2019.

5.8.2019 — The international floorball tournament Czech Open 2019 will take place in thirteen halls across Prague from the 8th to the 11th of August. The tournament is not only for elite world teams, but also for amateur and junior teams. The 28th international floorball tournament is considered one of the largest and most prestigious in the world. The biggest stars regularly come to Prague for this event.

20.6.2020 — The weekend of the 21st and the 22nd of June will be dedicated to large African mammals in Prague Zoo. World Giraffe Day celebrations and a baby elephant christening will take place here. World Giraffe Day falls on the 21st of June, the longest day of the year, but it will be celebrated in Prague Zoo on Saturday, the 20th of June, this year. The Giraffe Conservation Foundation, who announced this day, protects and monitors these incredible mammals in the wild. Zoos celebrate giraffes on this day all around the world.

14.2.2020 — An English-Dutch experimental rock band is coming back to Café V lese for the third time, and once again, it will certainly be an unforgettable evening. The concert will take place in the music club in the Vršovice district of Prague on the 15th of February.

4.9.2020 — 'Katana Masuri 2020', the Festival of Swords or 'Slavnost mečů' in Czech, takes place in the Czech Police Museum once every three years. This year's fifth festival will take place on the 6th of September and will once again introduce not only the Japanese sword, but also Japanese culture to the public. The event covers a wide range of topics, from Europe to Asia, from the historical Middle Ages to fencing today.

25.3.2020 — The lack of face masks in Prague has led to a huge wave of solidarity, as people make marks at home and give them to their fellow citizens. However, masks must be sterilised and effectively distributed.

8.1.2020 — Scandi, the festival of the best current Nordic cinema, offers dramas, thrillers, and provocative documentaries. The festival will take place in Prague cinemas Lucerna, Edison Filmhub, Evald and Atlas from the 9th to the 12th of January.

23.10.2020 — Prague Botanical Garden was of the few places not affected by the government's Covid-19 restrictions, but unfortunately it had to close today. Hopefully, it will reopen soon so that visitors will be able to enjoy the beautiful autumn colours! The garden is truly magical in the autumn. Those who think that all flowers have already bloomed are mistaken. For example, the Ornamental Garden is still full of colour these days.

10.3.2020 — 'Greetings from Fukushima' is a German drama which will be screened on the 11th of March in the Goethe-Institut in Prague. The award-winning film deals with the consequences of a nuclear disaster and interpersonal relationships.

Prague Botanical Garden grows a great number of this medicinal plant species in its outdoor exhibition, including whole lavender field which makes you feel like you are in the beautiful region of Provence. Lavender grows primarily is the western Mediterranean, and the lavender fields in the southeast of France are a great tourist attraction.

10.10.2019 — Up to 300,000 people are expected to come to Žofín Palace in Prague to pay their final respects to Karel Gott this Friday. Masarykovo Embankment, which is close to the venue, will be pedestrianised. The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic will work with the police, the army and Prague City Hall for the smooth organisation of the event.

16.10.2020 — he streaming service DAFilms.cz regularly introduces important titles from Czech and world cinematography. Forget the pandemic for a while and check out the latest available films. The DAFilms.cz website, which offers many interesting films and documentaries, is the fruit of the creative cooperation between 7 key European documentary film festivals associated in the Doc Alliance. The aim of the project is to push the boundaries of documentary film, to promote its diversity and to promote quality original films.

17.2.2019 — Since the Prague Public Transport Museum is very popular, The Prague Public Transit Co. Inc. has decided to open it to the public even in the winter months. The museum will be open every weekend until the 31st of March 2019 from 9am to 5pm. Visitors will find more than forty historic vehicles and many other exhibits here, including models, photographs, historical documents, tickets and transport plans.

30.7.2020 — Prague City Gallery's Eco-Studio in the Troja Château Orangery is offering summer art workshops to the public that will run during July and August. The eco-studio is an ideal place for art-lovers and creative people to develop their skills and reflect on fine art in the beautiful surroundings of one of Prague's most sought-after tourist attractions. The full-day art workshops, which take place throughout the summer holidays, offer meaningful leisure activities in the form of creative work.

15.7.2019 — The 20th Anniversary of the Summer Festivities of Early Music has started! The first of seven exclusive evenings of music took place on the 11th of July and the international music festival will run until the 6th of August. The well-known festival has been connecting old music with architecture for 20 years, as the concerts take place at specially selected historical venues in the Czech capital city, such as the Convent of Saint Agnes, Břevnov Monastery, Troja Château, and Rudolfinum.

28.9.2020 — Prague City Gallery manages several dozen public sculptures. Some of them can be found in Charles Square (Karlovo náměstí) in the city centre. Some of the most famous among them are the statue of the scientist, doctor, scholar and biologist Jan Evangelista Purkyně, the statue of the writer Eliška Krásnohorská and the statue of the writer Karolina Světlá.

23.10.2019 — A new exhibition, 'Russia. Timeless', is running in DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Holešovice in Prague until the 2nd of December. The exhibition introduces strong artistic opinions from contemporary Russia. "The exhibition shows the theme of timelessness over the past sixty years by artists of different generations and aesthetic beliefs. We want them to stand side by side and together, without categorising them as more or less important than each other. Each visitor can decide that for themselves and according to their own opinion," Tomáš Glanc, one of the exhibition's curators, said.

17.7.2020 — Prague City Gallery comes back to life with exhibitions, various programmes and other events. Yet another interesting exhibition will take place in one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings, Troja Château. The 'Stone Treasures from Prague Gardens' exhibition will be open to visitors until the 1st of November.

21.5.2020 — The space near the Great Strahov Stadium is being put to good use, with a brand-new drive-in cinema. With a capacity of 120 cars, it is the largest drive-in cinema in Prague. Apart from film screenings, various cultural events will also take place here during the summer.

8.9.2019 — On the 9th of September, the modern building of the National Library of Technology will celebrate its tenth birthday. A rich programme with guided tours and concerts will be prepared for this occasion.

29.7.2019 — On the 31st of July, reggae musician, and eight-time Grammy award winner, Ziggy Marley, will perform in Prague for the first time. His latest studio album was nominated for another Grammy and it is a call for community, activism and love.

20.11.2019 — From the 21st to the 24th of November, Bio Oko cinema in Letná in Prague will be a meeting place for lovers of Polish cinema. The 'Bardzo fajný' festival will not only offer new Polish movies, but also literary discussions, and food tasting of Polish delicacies.

19.10.2020 — A barrier-free entrance to Prague Botanical Garden was opened in the southern part of St. Claire's Vineyard at the end of September. The garden had been planning to build a new entrance for several years, and their waiting has finally paid off. From now on, visitors can comfortably enter St. Claire's Vineyard directly from Trojská Street, at the intersection between the vineyard walls and Troja Château, where the Kovárna bus stop is conveniently situated.

9.10.2019 — On the 10th of October, Clarinet Factory will perform classical, jazz, world and electronic music in La Fabrika cultural centre in Holešovice, Prague. The concert is held to celebrate World Hospice and Palliative Care Day and the four musicians will perform in support of Cesta domů Home Hospice in Prague.

15.11.2019 — On Sunday, the 17th of November, Prague Zoo will present an exhibition for people with sight loss, as well as for others to understand what it's like to perceive a zoo with senses other than sight.

25.2.2020 — A brand-new film festival is coming to Prague. The first annual independent Indian film festival, 'INDIE-INDIA', will take place in the Pilotů Cinema on the 28th and 29th of February.
