23.6.2019 — Most of the international contemporary dance festival KoresponDance will take place at the Castle in Žďár nad Sázavou, but the opening event will be in Prague. On the 25th of June, dancers will entertain the audience with three performances at the historical building of Invalidovna in Prague. One of the highlights of the evening will be a solo performance by James Batchelor, one of Australia's most amazing dance artists.

20.10.2019 — Prague plans to expand the collection of plant-based bio-waste. Citizens who recycle bio-waste will save money. Bio-waste of plant origin currently accounts for up to 40% of mixed municipal waste in the Czech metropolis.

28.2.2020 — Prague City Council has recently approved for the city of Prague to participate in the organisation of the 1st International Congress for the Governance of AI (ICGAI/ Prague 2020). The subject of the congress will be the regulation and ethics of artificial intelligence.

17.7.2020 — 'Náplavky', meaning riverbanks, have become popular venues for various events and markets in Prague. Now, travelling between Smíchovská náplavka by Hořejší Embankment and Náplavka by Rašínovo Embankment will be quicker and easier thanks to a new regular ferry connecting them.

31.5.2021 — Stejně jako loni podpoří hlavní město i v letošním roce rozjezd cestovního ruchu programem V Praze jako doma. Do metropole bude lákat domácí i zahraniční turisty na volné vstupy do vybraných muzeí, galerií nebo zoo. Návštěvníci se mohou těšit na řadu novinek, například na živé kulturní akce nebo turistickou tramvaj.

Celkem již dokončila 40 projektů a na dalších s partnery postupně pracuje. Jednotlivé projekty reflektují i kultivaci veřejného prostoru a eliminaci negativních projevů spojených s turismem v historickém centru. Příkladem je kampaň Enjoy Respect Prague, která vkusnou formou informuje turisty o pravidlech a kultuře chování. Nově kampaň doplňují outdoorové plakáty informující turisty, aby se nefotili se zvířaty, která jsou zneužívána pro ilegální byznys a provozovatelé si za to nechávají platit i několik tisíc korun.

7.9.2020 — V úterý bude v areálu pražského Výstaviště slavnostně zahájen třítýdenní festival kultury. Hlavním cílem festivalu je podpořit umělce, nabídnout Pražanům multižánrový program a podpořit tak návrat kulturního a společenského života.

8.5.2019 — On Saturday, the 11th of May, Prague Castle will officially open the summer tourist season. The seat of the Czech heads of state is on this day open to visitors completely for free. Apart from the opening of the summer season, the 100th anniversary of the Office of the President of the Republic will also be celebrated.

23.3.2020 — Founded in 1348 by Emperor Charles IV, Bastion XXXI forms part of the New Town of Prague's medieval walls. It not only offers visitors magnificent views of the Vyšehrad skyline, the Vltava waterfront, and many other historical buildings, but outdoor exhibitions are also regularly held there.

29.1.2020 — PID Lítačka Prague city transport cards, which were first issued in 2016, are set to expire this year. However, the company ICT Operator and Prague City Hall decided to automatically extend the card validity by three years. Therefore, passengers whose cards were due to expire this year will be capable of travelling with Lítačka around Prague and Prague Central Bohemia until 2023.

13.2.2019 — The City of Prague Museum, in cooperation with the Free State of Saxony's liaison office in Prague, organised an exhibition of children's drawings with fairy tale themes in the Ctěnice Chateau complex. The exhibition will be open until the 17th March.

9.11.2017 — Japan Week is a festival focused on the presentation and promotion of the Japanese culture and art around the world and interchange between the nations. The Japanese foundation (IFF) International Friendship Foundation has been organising Japan Week already for 31 years - every year in a different country.

17.5.2005 — Na uspořádání festivalu United Islands of Prague věnuje Praha společnosti Ostrovy s.r.o. 400 tisíc korun. O daru dnes rozhodli městští radní, kteří současně uložili radnímu Igoru Němcovi podepsat darovací smlouvu.

5.4.2011 — Primátor včera zahájil čtvrtý ročník veletrhu fotografie Prague Photo, který se koná pod jeho záštitou. V rámci vernisáže výstavy byla udělena cena UniCredit Bank Prague Photo Young Award mladému umělci do 35 let Janu Přibylskému – jeho zástupci převzali z rukou primátora symbolický šek na 50 tisíc korun.

29.6.2020 — V rámci podpory kulturních institucí v době po koronavirové krizi se hlavní město rozhodlo umožnit lidem vstup do vybraných galerií a muzeí s 50% slevou. Při vstupu do celkem devíti různých institucí k tomu postačí ukázat kartu Lítačka. Celková podpora Prahy v podobě dorovnání poloviny vstupného za období červenec a srpen 2020 je více jak 13 milionů korun. Projekt je uskutečněn ve spolupráci s Prague City Tourism (PCT).

7.4.2009 — V prostorách výstavní síně Mánes v městské části Praha 1 zahájila dnes náměstkyně primátora hlavního města Marie Kousalíková již druhý ročník největší fotografické přehlídky v České republice – PRAGUE PHOTO

13.3.2023 — Rada hl. m. Prahy schválila navýšení rozpočtu na mediální kampaně k podpoře cestovního ruchu o dalších osm milionů korun. Celkem tak metropole v roce 2023 vyčlení na kampaně, eventy, podporu kongresového turismu a podporu Pražského audiovizuálního nadačního fondu 30 850 000 korun. Dodatečné prostředky mají za cíl přilákat do hlavního města více turistů směřujících za kulturními událostmi, kteří zároveň stráví v Praze průměrně větší počet nocí za jednu návštěvu.

8.5.2020 — Selected branches of the Municipal Library of Prague opened to the public on Tuesday the 5th of May. However, health and safety measure must still be followed. Despite the government's decision to allow public libraries to open from the 27th of April, some libraries, such as the Municipal Library of Prague, were surprised by this decision and were not ready to open so soon.

5.7.2020 — Food Truck Park is a street food event which takes place every Sunday until the end of October at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. A variety of gastronomic specialties from all over the world will be on offer. You will find it near the children's playground on the newly renovated 'Bruselská Cesta' ('Brussels Road').

17.7.2014 — Prague Convention Bureau ve spolupráci se zahraničním zastoupením agentury CzechTourism uspořádalo první společnou MICE & Leisure roadshow v západní části USA, která se konala od 7. do 14. července. V rámci roadshow uspořádali 4 networkingové kulinářské akce a workshopy pro vybrané nákupčí z řad organizátorů akcí, tour operátorů a cestovních agentur ve čtyřech amerických městech - Los Angeles, Orange County, Scottsdale a San Francisku. Součástí byla také účast na konferenci ASTA Arizona ve Phoenixu.

4.5.2016 — Po úspěšné kampani realizované s Českými aeroliniemi uzavřel Prague City Tourism nově spolupráci také s dopravní společností Vega Tour. Panorama Hradčan, které je stěžejním motivem livery Airbusu 319, nese od května 2016 do dubna 2017 rovněž flotila 20 luxusních autobusů.

25.4.2019 — From the 26th to the 28th April 2019, nineteen galleries will take part in the third annual Gallery Weekend Prague.

26.7.2019 — New Town Hall (Novoměstská radnice) and the Municipal District Prague 2 have prepared an interesting programme for the anniversary of the First Defenestration of Prague, from the 27th to the 31st of July. You can take part in guided tours, an open-air cinema in the New Town Hall courtyard and other events in Charles Square (Karlovo náměstí).

16.3.2019 — Prague is preparing for greater St. Patrick's Day celebrations than ever before. The main attraction will be the festive parade on Sunday the 17th of March, which begins and ends in Campus Hybernská, where the other main celebrations will be held. According to the legend, Saint Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland, converted the people of Ireland to Christianity in the fifth century.

7.11.2005 — V rezidenci primátora hlavního města byl včera večer otevřen 7. ročník Prague Fashion Week. Módní přehlídku slavnostně zahájil primátor Pavel Bém, který nad touto akcí převzal i záštitu. Nové kolekce zde představilo devět předních českých návrhářek. Ukázky úspěšných módních návrhářů z domova i ze světa můžete vidět do 14. listopadu v pražském Mánesu

16.10.2020 — As a result of the further government regulations in relation to the coronavirus pandemic, Prague Zoo in Troja has had to close again. The zoo currently expects to close for 17 days, which means a big loss for the zoo. How can you help? Although Prague Zoo is largely funded by Prague City Hall, its resources are limited. Therefore, the zoo is asking the public for help.

19.2.2018 — The Prague Exhibition Grounds in Holešovice (Výstaviště Holešovice) will come to life on the 24th of February with the traditional fair of St. Matthew. Visitors can look forward to more than 115 different entertainment attractions, an accompanying program and, of course, stalls with typical fair fast food. This year's fair will last until April 15 and is again the first event of its kind in Europe.

14.9.2009 — Náměstkyně primátora hlavního města pro oblast školství Marie Kousalíková předala v sobotu večer ceny vítězům prvního finálového večera taneční soutěže Prague Open International IDSF 2009. Ten je již šestým ročníkem úspěšné mezinárodní soutěže ve standardních a latinskoamerických tancích a konal se tento víkend 12. a 13. září ve sportovní hale ARENA Sparta.

17.7.2020 — Prague City Gallery comes back to life with exhibitions, various programmes and other events. Yet another interesting exhibition will take place in one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings, Troja Château. The 'Stone Treasures from Prague Gardens' exhibition will be open to visitors until the 1st of November.

15.12.2019 — You will have the opportunity to attend an interesting lecture in the Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace, the educational centre of the Prague City Gallery, on the 17th of December. This time, the gallery has prepared a lecture on the famous Baroque sculptor Jerome Kohl and his works, as part of their lecture series Stories of Sculptures.

30.6.2019 — From the 5th to the 7th of July, a unique stand up paddleboard race (SUP) will take place in the historical centre of Prague, on the Vltava River near Střelecký Island ('Střelecký ostrov'). The first official SUP race in Prague is part of the tenth anniversary of the biggest European series, The Euro Tour. In addition to racing, the weekend will be full of sport opportunities for all paddle board enthusiasts. Paddle board fans of any level of experience will be able to borrow and try out paddle boards.

30.5.2019 — From Friday, the 31st of May to Saturday, the 1st of June, the 16th United Islands of Prague festival will take place at Karlín, a popular location in Prague.
