Clarinet Factory concert to support palliative care
On the 10th of October, Clarinet Factory will perform classical, jazz, world and electronic music in La Fabrika cultural centre in Holešovice, Prague. The concert is held to celebrate World Hospice and Palliative Care Day and the four musicians will perform in support of Cesta domů Home Hospice in Prague.
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, which has its 15thanniversary this year, is held on the second Saturday in October every year. “Cesta domů takes part in the celebrations with a concert that, besides a nice experience, will remind the public of the importance of palliative care,” Ruth Šormová, director of Cesta domů, says.
25th anniversary celebration
The concert doesn’t only support a good cause, but is also the 25th anniversary celebration for the four-member wind ensemble, whose first concert took place 25 years ago.
Tour and awards
Clarinet Factory is a popular quartet that offers the audience a lot, and which fills their busy schedule. The band performs not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. In July, Clarinet Factory went on tour in Ontario, Canada, where they played six concerts.
The musicians also received a significant award, when they won the prestigious International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, USA in the Instrumental category for their composition ‘Orlík’ from the album ‘Ozvěny z kamene’ (‘Echoes from Stone’). The jury, including stars such as Tom Waits, Jerry Lee Lewis and Robert Smith, chose the Czech composition from over 15,000 songs sent from 80 countries from all over the world.
Original concert with new songs
And what has this original, lively and successful band prepared for their Prague concert? “We do not plan to play any memories. The concert will be absolutely original, full of innovations,” Jindřich Pavliš, the frontman of Clarinet Factory, invites music lovers to the event, adding that during the benefit evening, they will play several new compositions, but also some instrumental songs, dreamy music, as well as harder pieces, which will be part of Clarinet Factory’s upcoming album.
