Combining yoga and art
Yoga is a healthy form of exercise which relieves stress and boosts mindfulness. Make time for yourself and enjoy practicing yoga at home with the YogArt project. The House of Lobkowicz companies have decided to organise online yoga sessions. They take place in the beautiful historic galleries of the Lobkowicz Castles in Bohemia, combining yoga and art.
Alternative relaxation
“YogArt aims to give people an alternative and original form of relaxation, combining elements of education and relaxation, in a comfortable home environment. Sessions are conducted by experienced yoga instructors and are suitable for all ages and levels,” Barbara Starostová, the House of Lobkowicz spokeswoman, said.
Yoga sessions are available in Czech and English.
Yoga in galleries
Yoga sessions were already taking place in the Lobkowicz halls before the coronavirus pandemic. However, due to the present situation, a different approach was needed.
“People were disappointed about the closure of yoga studios and museums had to close as well. We wanted to find a way to connect two different art forms, one of aesthetic value and art history, and one of peace and physical well-being,” Alexandra Lobkowicz, President of the Lobkowicz Collections, said.
Each session will take place in a different setting filled with extraordinary artworks, which the instructors will introduce during each session while you unwind with a series of mindful breathing exercises and gentle yoga movements.
The first sessions will take place in Nelahozeves Chateau, and following episodes will be filmed in the Lobkowicz Palace museum halls in Prague Castle and other Lobkowicz Castles.
The YogArt project is certainly worth your attention.
