Summer of music in Prague starts off with a bang!
There will be over 40 unique concerts at the fourth annual pop and rock Metronome Festival Prague. The festival will take place on the 21st and 22nd of June in Prague Exhibition Grounds and this year's programme will once again be filled with music stars, both from the Czech Republic and abroad. A great accompanying programme will be part of the festival. The festival's specialties include focusing on all ages and genres, and offering the most up-to-date current music and the greatest hits of the past
Festival comfort
It is not just the quality programme that will appeal to a wide audience, but also the comfort both of open-air and covered stages, plenty of seating, a large selection of snacks and a cashless payment system that ensures secure payments for festival-goers, shorter queues and faster check-in. There will be green areas and plenty of space to rest and relax, comfortable stands for sitting, gastro zones with a wide range of meals, a large selection of bars, all with returnable cups and recyclable dishes. Music stars
And of course, the most important features of music festivals are the music stars themselves. Highlights include the former lead singer of the legendary band Oasis Liam Gallagher, German electronic music band Kraftwerk, Scottish alternative rock band Primal Scream, and London music band Morcheeba, who will play their biggest hits.
In addition to these great names, other musicians, such as the phenomenal guitarist and singer Anna Calvi, the great dance musician Danny Howard, the Icelandic female guerrilla hip hop group Reykjavíkurdætur, and British neo-soul band Jungle, will perform.
Home scene
The festival will also bring the stars of the Czech music scene – the legendary band Pražský výběr. A multi-generational meeting of female singers will be another extraordinary event. Metronome Festival Prague invites you to this once-off performance entitled ‘Voices of Freedom’. This concert is the main event of the celebration the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, which the Czech Republic commemorates this year.
